combining lines of inquiry in political sociology and philosophy, dylan uses his music to provoke deep conversations on how to repair the broken systems which dictate life in the united states of america. many of his works explicitly make commentary on the societal injustices of a myriad intersections of identity which face both separate and combined mistreatment.

dylan thoroughly believes in the power of musical discomfort, and often uses it as a tool to convey discomfort in social justice. his work often presents material which is in some way uncomfortable, whether through experimentation in timbre, extremes in volume, or harshness in harmony.
